Yom Kippur (Hebrew: יוֹם כִּפּוּר‎, IPA: [ˈjɔm kiˈpur]), also known as the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day of the year for Jews. Its central themes are atonement and repentance. Jews traditionally observe this holy day with an approximately 25-hour period of fasting and intensive prayer, often spending most of the day in synagogue services. Yom Kippur completes the annual period known in Judaism as the High Holy Days.

Yom Kippur is the tenth day of the month of Tishrei. The Yom Kippur prayer service includes several unique aspects. One is the actual number of prayer services. Unlike a regular day, which has three prayer services (Ma'ariv, the evening prayer; Shacharit, the morning prayer; and Mincha, the afternoon prayer), or a Shabbat or Yom Tov, which have four prayer services (Ma'ariv; Shacharit; Musaf, the additional prayer; and Mincha), Yom Kippur has five prayer services (Ma'ariv; Shacharit; Musaf; Mincha; and Ne'ilah, the closing prayer). The prayer services also include a public confession of sins (Vidui) and a unique prayer dedicated to the special Yom Kippur avodah (service) of the Kohen Gadol in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

Yom Kippur is considered one of the holiest of Jewish holidays and it is observed by many secular Jews who may not observe other holidays. Many secular Jews fast and attend synagogue on Yom Kippur, where the number of worshippers attending is often double or triple the normal attendance. Many other Jews choose not to fast[1].

Former Manager at Iowa Slaughterhouse Arrested

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- A former manager of a kosher slaughterhouse that was found to have employed hundreds of illegal immigrants was arrested Thursday by authorities who allege he helped many of the workers get fake documents.
Prosecutors said Sholom Rubashkin, 49-year-old son of Agriprocessors owner Abraham Aaron Rubashkin, is charged with conspiracy to harbor undocumented immigrants for financial gain, aiding and abetting document fraud, and aiding and abetting aggravated identity theft.
Immigration agents said in a federal affidavit that one witness said Sholom Rubashkin gave him $4,500 to buy identification documents for illegal-immigrant workers. Another allegedly said Rubashkin saw nothing wrong with hiring a group of workers who had new-looking resident alien cards and might have been fired from the Agriprocessors plant in Postville just two days earlier.
Agents raided the plant May 12, arresting 389 people in what officials said at the time was the largest single-site immigration bust in U.S. history. State prosecutors allege that more than 30 of the workers were children.
Agents also seized dozens of fraudulent permanent resident alien cards during the raid, according to the affidavit.
Rubashkin appeared Thursday in federal court, where he waived a preliminary hearing and agreed to be released on his own recognizance on the condition that he put up a $500,000 bond by Nov. 5 and wear a tracking bracelet on his ankle.
Rubashkin also agreed to forfeit his and his wife's passports and agreed not to leave northern Iowa.
His attorney F. Montgomery Brown said that Rubashkin's bond would be paid by a cousin in Brooklyn and that Rubashkin intends to plead not guilty.
Prosecutor Peter Deegan said Thursday that Rubashkin is ''likely to face one of the lengthier sentences'' of anyone involved with the Agriprocessors raid and subsequent fallout. His next court appearance has yet to be set.
Telephone messages were left for Agriprocessors officials, and an Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman did not return calls seeking comment.
The affidavit said an unnamed witness, a former supervisor in the beef kill area, told investigators he or she met with Rubashkin in a barn area of the plant the week before the raid. The witness told Rubashkin that $4,500 was needed to help some employees who were fired because they had bad papers.
Rubashkin apparently asked whether the money had to be in cash and the next morning agreed to loan it. Later in the day another employee gave the witness the cash in $100 bills.
That witness said he or she then gave as much as $200 each to employees to buy new identification documents. The new documents were obtained and given to plant foremen to give to as many as 40 employees a day before the raid, according to the affidavit.
Laura Althouse, a human resources employee with Agriprocessors, pleaded guilty this week to conspiracy to harbor undocumented immigrants for financial gain and aggravated identity theft. Trial is scheduled for Nov. 17 for another human resources worker, Karina Freund.
Two of the plant's meatpacking supervisors also faced federal immigration charges.
In September, the owner and managers of the plant, including Sholom Rubashkin, were charged with 9,311 misdemeanors alleging they illegally hired minors and let children younger than 16 handle dangerous equipment. The complaint filed by the Iowa attorney general's office said the violations involved 32 illegal-immigrant children younger than 18, including seven who were not yet 16.
On Wednesday, Agriprocessors was fined nearly $10 million by Iowa Labor Commissioner Dave Neil over accusations that it violated state wage laws. The company has 30 days to appeal.

A LUBAVITCHER WOMAN IN PRISON

She grew up in crown Heights. She went to Bais Rivka. Her dream was to be like the
rest of the Lubavitch girls. Get married, start a family, have children,be a loving
mother and a caring wife. She got married before many girls in her class. She started
a family right away. She was happy.

They didn't have much money, they struggled to make ends meet, but they did it and they did it together. Eventually her husband started making more money. She worked through all her pregnancies to help out and let him succeed. Her work hours always had to revolve around him and the kids, because as he told her " I make more money than you, my job is more important " She accepted that because they were a couple, a family, one.

Things started getting rockey in the marriage. She left him. She went back because he took the children. He knew she wanted out. She told him that. When she went back she cared for the children. He wouldn't give her any money. He wouldn't give her a vehicle. They lived in the middle of nowhere like shluchim.

It's summer vacation. The children barley ever left the block .They couldn't go anywhere but the local park that was in walking distance. The husband had built himself up nicely financially. He drove a two seater Toyota pickup truck to work. He finished new homes, a messy job. A work truck was logical. The husband decided he wanted a luxury vehicle. He bought himself one.The children were excited, ecstatic, until there father pulled off in it the next morning to go to work. The oldest one was crying. The father got mad at that. He explained to her that " I didn't buy that car for mommy " He pulled off to go to work while the kids sat on the porch heartbroken,they thought that finally they could leave the house.

Now the handful of kids that this woman had with this arrogant man are stuck at home, with nowhere to go and no money to go anywhere.They look at a Toyota pickup and wish mommy could drive a stick shift and smoosh them all into it. When the husband comes home from work he may give them a drive, he may take them grocery shopping. While there mother sits on the porch thinking about the day she can leave.

This woman has lived in places she hated, to further his career. This woman took mediocre
jobs that would accept her schedule, so he cold prosper. This woman never questioned his
actions or wear abouts. She was loyal to a fault. She believed in love, family and marriage.

Look at her now, lost alone and helpless.
I wont publicize her name because she asked me not to.
But I will assure you of this. There are many people within
the Lubavitch community who know who she is and how she is
suffering. And they wont do anything about it.

I TALKED TO LEAH KLEIM ABOUT HER TIME IN JAIL

Leah Kleim called me back and told me why she was
there, what happened to put her there. Leah asked
me not to write about it until she did and I gave her
my word that I wouldn't.

I am still fascinated and curious as to what the world
has to say about it, so I googled Leah Kleim again.

I was exposed to this madness by a total eccident.
i went back to the earlyest 2007 posting on Leah's blog and then i found this one
I think that she is a really sick disturbed woman and the fact that she has access to her kids make my skin crawl
She has great communications skills and she is using it for all the wrong things
She needs to be put in a military style boot camp with no access to the outside world for a long time in order to put an end to her madness. She needs to be put away for 20 years and when she finally gets out no one will care about an old mad woman

I can't believe that so many people in a community so tight couldn't and didn't do anything for so long

just trashing her on the Internet in blogs will not help she feeds of it and constantly looking for more material so she can go on

Neal, I was reading alot about you. I don't know you and I will probably never will but after what she did to you and your family< i wouldn't just sit there in the corner hoping that it will go away on it's own. What are you nuts?? If she did you wrong and aimed to destroy your family you have to take action!!!! (unless she is right)

if it is indeed slender then GET UP PEOPLE AND TAKE ACTION!!!! what are you afraid of??? if it is all lies then do something about it or your kids will read about it one day and will ask you the same question. "If it wasn't true, why didn't you do anything???"

She needs to be stoped and i wish i had the answer for you on how to do it.

LEAH KLEIM IS CALLING ME

I just got off the phone with Leah Kleim, she is putting
her kids to bed. Leah said she would call me back when
she was done. She said being a mother comes first and
her children are more important than her status
as a frum world superstar.

I am patiently waiting to hear from Leah because
I am more curious than my hundreds of emailers
as to why Leah Kleim was in jail.

There have been very few times when Leah Kleim
has decided not to write about something that touched
home with her. When Leah Kleim makes the
decision to keep quiet the bloggers go crazy wondering
why, so do I.

So now I am waiting for the phone call from Leah Kleim
so I can find out...Why was Leah Kleim in jail ?
But until then I can Google Leah Kleim and try to find

Leah Kleim's blog is one I read every day. Recently Leah Kleim had stopped
writing. I did not understand or know why she stopped.
I am friends with Leah, and tried to call her, but no answer.

What is up with Crown Heights lately? I went to Crown Heights yesterday, and most of the men looked like they just got off a roller coaster. This I find really disturbing, many Lubavitchers told me Lubavitchers are better than the Litfachs, Satmar, etc. Most of the Lubavitchers have a story about the Litfachs, or Satmar, etc. how they tested a Lubavitcher and the Lubavitcher gave an answer that was magnificent. I never believed those stories I heard the Litfachs say the same type of stories. Even though I know that Lubavitcherss aren't the greatest, and they know it too, they should at least dress the part. If a homeless man tells you he's rich, would you believe him? no, even though he might have millions and is crazy. So why don't you believe him? He doesn't look the part. Same thing here, if Lubavitchers are going to say they're the best, They should look the best. To top it off they're always saying don't do this and that it's a Chilul Hashem, and a Chilul Lubavitch. HELLO wake up and smell the coffee, the goyim look at you and say "you look like a pig".

What is going on with Leah Kleim and The daily yid ?
At one point she was asking other blogs (including myself)

to link to him. Now Leah Kleim has asked for those blogs

to stop linking him and there are all kinds of rumors and

accusations flying around.

The daily yid has a post by Leah Kleim that she links to.
Other blogs such as Love life and Sevenfatcow also have
articles about this on there blogs.

It seems there is some cover up going on, it seems Leah
(once again) knows something crucial.
